The Players' Player!
Billie-Jo Smith has entered an agreement with Jonathan Loosemore’s JDL Sports ahead of the 2025 season, her rookie campaign on the Ladies European Tour.
The 25-year-old from Nottinghamshire earned full LET status with an excellent 2024 season on the LET Access Series where she recorded an impressive nine top-tens highlighted by runner-up finishes at each of the last three events. With third place on the Order of Merit, Smith earned her spot alongside Europe’s elite while also winning the title of Players’ Player of the Year, voted by her peers.
Smith’s achievements are remarkable given that alongside professional golf she is studying for a doctorate in Biomechanics at the University of Derby. She will receive full support for her commercial interests alongside career and performance guidance from Loosemore’s boutique agency which is in just its third full season of operation.
“I am delighted to be working with Billie-Jo as she makes the step up to the LET next season,” said the Bergen-based Yorkshireman, “2024 proved that she is a talented golfer but to balance a pro career with studying for a PhD requires immense discipline and a first-class work ethic. These qualities will give her every chance to succeed at the highest level.”
Loosemore continued, “My early impressions of Billie-Jo are nothing but positive. To be voted Players’ Player of the Year speaks volumes about her popularity and personality. She is bright and outgoing and would make an excellent ambassador for any brand.”
Smith said of the new partnership, “Jonathan has so much experience in the golf business and can provide the guidance I need as my career progresses to a new level. I am really excited about my future and am pleased to have Jonathan as a key member of my team.”
